Circulation Policy for Students

Based on the Implementation, Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 10931 known as the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act of 2017“, the Library Fees refer to the fees intended for the use of and access to library services in aid of research and instruction. This fee shall not cover fines and penalties incurred by student library users. This also includes license fees to cover large-scale reproduction of copyrighted materials which shall be paid to collective licensing organizations.

Anchored on R.A. 10931, BISU library formulates and implements the policy on collecting fines for borrowers who do not return the borrowed books on time.

Library Use Only Books (LUO)
  • General references like encyclopedias, dictionaries etc.
  • Periodicals (Magazines, Journals, Newspapers)
  • Thesis/Dissertations
  • Audio Visual Materials (CD, CD ROM’s, DVD, Audio Cassettes, Maps
    etc.)
  • Information files (newspaper clippings)
Library Use Only None
Holds Items checked out may be recalled if needed by another patron  
Blocked privileges Borrowing privileges are blocked if more than 3
items are overdue
 
Lost materials Lost borrowed materials must be replaced. (COA Cir 77-42 as amended by Cir 94-12, 97-05). Library books lost by users shall be subject to replacement cost, to include current cost if available plus 10% for processing or the cost of photo-duplication and binding if no longer available in the local market.
